Bachelor in Food Engineering | Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University
Last Updated:
The Food Engineering major at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) is offered under the Faculty of Chemical Technology, designed to train specialists in the food industry by applying engineering principles to food production, processing, and safety. This program combines knowledge from chemistry, biology, physics, and engineering to develop efficient, sustainable, and safe food manufacturing processes. Students focus on transforming raw agricultural materials into consumer products, emphasizing quality control, preservation techniques, packaging, and compliance with health standards, while addressing challenges in Azerbaijan's growing food sector and related industries.
The bachelor's program spans four years, leading to a Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering upon completion of 240 ECTS credits. It provides a solid foundation in core sciences and engineering applications tailored to food systems. The curriculum includes modules in mathematics, physics, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, food chemistry, process engineering, heat and mass transfer, food processing technologies, and quality management. Specialized courses cover fermentation, food safety, packaging engineering, and industrial equipment design. Students develop skills in laboratory analysis, process optimization, problem-solving, and using software for simulation, with practical training through internships in food production facilities.
